Here’s a lot of the questions that I often get asked as a DJ and Singer.
Can you play at events other than weddings?
For sure! I have played at all sorts of events over the years, and am happy to play at just about anything!
How far are you willing to travel?
I’ve gigged as a professional musician and DJ now for well over a decade, and music has taken me around the world. I am willing to travel - but for an additional surcharge which covers accomodation, travel, leave from other work and the additional time involved. For an estimate, don’t hesitate to get in touch! I’d love to hear from you.
What packages do you offer?
I have three main packages that you can find in the ‘packages’ tab above. All three offer fantastic value, but if you have to pick one, and are after music all day, the best value is the “Day and Night” package.
What do we need to provide you on the night at our venue?
Very little! I bring everything you need to get the party started - the main thing is access to a power point for my PA and Lighting, and a “crew meal” if the event is being held over a meal time. No one wants a hungry DJ or musician at their event! You can organise “crew meals” with your venue or catering provider, often for a discounted rate when compared to the catering cost for your guests.
What time will you arrive?
I’ll typically arrive 45-60 minutes before the booking start time to get everything setup and ready to go. I may arrive a touch earlier if multiple setup locations are required - like a ceremony spot and a reception venue. With hundreds of gigs under my belt, I’ve got setup and backdown sorted and will be ready to bring the party as soon as your event starts.
How much space do you need to set up?
If you’ve just booked me to play, sing or DJ - hardly anything! A 2x2m space is more than adequate and will allow me the room I need to get everything up and running. If you’ve asked for a full band setup, it will depend on how many musicians you’ve requested - get in touch for more details!
Do you take song requests on the night?
Yes - but there are some considerations involved. I wrote a whole blogpost about this, so go check it out if you’re interested! Requests can make a night - or kill an night if you’re not careful!
We don’t trust anyone with the microphone.. can you MC for us?
For sure! It’s included in my “Day and Night” package - but I am happy to do it on other packages for a nominal fee. I have MC’d events for years and am an expert at reading the room and bringing the right vibe to your event, so don’t hesitate to reach out and talk to me about MC’ing your special day.
What happens if you’re unwell and can’t perform?
This happens so rarely - over my career playing hundreds of shows and events I can only count 2 or 3 times at most that I’ve ever had to replace myself in the case of an emergency or severe sickness, and it’s never happened before for a wedding! If I am unable to perform, you’ll receive a suitable replacement (be that a DJ or singer) and a complimentary apologetic discount of 20% of your package fee with my apologies.
