First Dance Songs: Classic vs Unique Choices

The speeches are done. The lights are low. Husband and Wife take to the dance floor for their very first dance as newlyweds. What song do you pick? Over the years, I’ve seen some songs shine as classics, and I’ve seen some really interesting unique picks that wouldn’t work for everyone. So what do I recommend?

The main thing, whether you’re looking at a classic pick or a unique pick is simply this: the song should mean something to the two of you.

Or at LEAST be meaningful to one of you. I have seen the most esoteric first dance picks be absolutely INCREDIBLE because even though the choice was a wild one. Why? It was extremely meaningful for the bride and groom. It’s even better when the song has been meaningful to the wider room.

So. If you want a first dance that is classic or unique - I’m actually going to be a bit cheeky. I’m not going to suggest anything for either category!!!!

You can pick one yourself! Your first dance pick should be your idea because it is meaningful to you. This is what will make it special - not that you picked a tune of a list of “Top 10 First Dance Picks This Year.” If you really get stuck, reach out, and I’m happy to offer suggestions.
